Imperial Grandeur and Alpine Beauty

Austria pairs imperial grandeur with alpine beauty — the palaces, coffee houses and music of Vienna, Mozart's Salzburg and the Sound of Music scenery, the storybook lakes of the Salzkammergut, and the peaks and villages of the Tyrol. Elegant, cultured and effortlessly scenic, it rewards both city lovers and mountain seekers.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Austria — we route it: imperial Vienna and Salzburg, the lakes, or a Tyrolean mountain escape, with the hotels, trains and transfers handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Vienna grand hotels to Tyrolean lodges, we build an Austria trip of culture, music and mountain air.

Austria is grand cities and storybook Alps in one — Vienna's palaces and coffee houses, Salzburg's music, and the lakes and peaks of the Tyrol.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Austria rewards the traveller who pairs its cities with its mountains. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
Imperial Vienna
Imperial Vienna
The Habsburg palaces of Schönbrunn and the Hofburg, the opera, the grand coffee houses and the art — one of Europe's most cultured capitals.
Salzburg
Salzburg
Mozart's baroque birthplace, the fortress above the city and the Sound of Music scenery all around — a jewel between the mountains.
The Tyrolean Alps
Innsbruck, the peaks and the storybook villages — world-class skiing in winter and dramatic walking and lakes in summer.
The Lakes
The Salzkammergut — Hallstatt, Wolfgangsee and the lakes between the mountains, some of the most photogenic scenery in Europe.
Coffee House Culture
Coffee House Culture
The Viennese coffee house — marble, newspapers, Sachertorte and unhurried hours — a UNESCO-listed institution and a way of life.
Christmas Markets
Christmas Markets
Vienna and Salzburg's famous Advent markets — mulled wine, crafts and carols beneath the lights, the most magical of winter city breaks.

  • The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) is now in operation — on your first entry you give a facial image and fingerprints at the border, rather than a passport stamp
