HAND-VETTED RESORTS

A World Apart — Entirely to Yourself

Scattered across 90,000 square kilometres of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is the world's most geographically dispersed nation — and, paradoxically, its most intimate. Each resort occupies its own island: no roads, no crowds, nothing between you and the turquoise but warm white sand and the quiet rhythm of the lagoon.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book the Maldives — we architect your escape within it. An overwater villa suspended above a living house reef, a private sandbank dinner at sunset, a sunrise with nothing but ocean in every direction: every detail is shaped around how you want the week to feel.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio of resort partners — from intimate boutique islands to the most celebrated names in the archipelago — we match you to the right atoll for your trip, not simply the best-photographed infinity pool.

The Maldives isn't a destination — it's a state of mind. Our role is to ensure every element conspires towards that perfect sense of nothing-else-matters.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Beyond the overwater villa, the Maldives rewards the curious. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
house reef snorkelling
House Reef Snorkelling
Step from your villa deck into a living coral garden. Turtles, reef sharks and shoals of tropical fish patrol water so clear it barely registers — and in the right atoll, manta rays glide past within metres of the shore.
Seaplane Transfer
Seaplane Transfer
The transfer is part of the holiday. Your seaplane lifts off Malé's lagoon and skims the atolls at low altitude — a shifting mosaic of reef, sandbank and impossibly blue water that no photograph quite prepares you for.
Private Sandbank Dining
Private Sandbank Dining
A single table on a deserted sandbank, candlelight in the sand, a private chef, and a horizon broken only by stars. The Maldives does romance without cliché — and this is its finest expression.
Overwater Spa
Overwater Spa
Glass-floored treatment rooms suspended above the lagoon, warm-stone massage, and the water itself as the only soundtrack. Rays drift beneath the floor as you unwind.
Dolphin Sunset Cruise
Dolphin Sunset Cruise
Spinner dolphins race the bow of your private dhoni as the sky turns coral and amber. Champagne in hand, the Indian Ocean to yourself — the day's quiet finale.
Bioluminescent Night Swim
Bioluminescent Night Swim
On the right night, the shallows come alive. Wade in after dark and the water glows electric blue around every movement — bioluminescent plankton turning the sea into something from another world.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
PEAK SEASON
December to April
The dry northeast monsoon (locally Iruvai). Brilliant sunshine, calm lagoons and the year's best underwater visibility, often 25-30 metres. January to March is the driest heart of the season. The most sought-after and highest-priced weeks — book well ahead, especially over Christmas, New Year and February half-term.
EXCELLENT VALUE
May to November
The southwest monsoon (Hulhangu) brings higher humidity and short, heavy tropical showers — typically an hour of rain, then sunshine, with 6-7 hours of sun a day even in the wettest months. September is statistically the wettest. Resort rates fall by up to 30-50%, and the islands are at their quietest.
MANTA & WHALE SHARK SEASON
June to October
As the southwest monsoon funnels plankton into Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll, manta rays gather in extraordinary numbers — peaking in July and August. Whale sharks cruise South Ari Atoll year-round. The single best window for big-animal encounters.
THE SWEET SPOT
April & late November
The transitional weeks either side of the wet season — often drier than May, with pleasant temperatures and noticeably lower prices than the peak-season rush. A knowing traveller's choice.
Sample Itinerary
A 7-Night Maldives Journey
Every itinerary we create is bespoke — this is simply one way a perfect week unfolds.
1
DAY 1 — DEPARTURE
UK to Malé
Your overnight flight departs in the evening — around ten and a half hours direct from London, or via a single connection from your regional UK airport. Settle in; the Maldives is waiting on the far side of the night.
2
DAY 2 — ARRIVAL & SETTLE IN
Seaplane to Your Island
You land into Velana International Airport, Malé. After a short rest, board your seaplane at the dedicated terminal and skim above the atolls as the Maldives unfolds beneath you. On arrival, a butler escorts you to your villa. The rest of the day is yours.
3
DAYS 3-4 — THE OCEAN
House Reef & Marine Encounters
A morning snorkel from your deck into the house reef — turtles, rays and shoals of tropical fish. A guided dive to a nearby pinnacle. A sunset dolphin cruise aboard your private dhoni.
4
DAYS 5-6 — INDULGENCE
Spa, Sandbank & Fine Dining
A full morning in the overwater spa with a signature treatment above the lagoon. An afternoon picnic on a private sandbank. In the evening, a memorable dinner at your resort's signature restaurant, beneath the stars.
5
DAY 7 — FAREWELL
Final Morning & Seaplane Return
A slow final breakfast on your deck as the lagoon shimmers. Your seaplane returns you to Malé, and your flight home departs in the evening — the time difference working in your favour.
