Africa's Best-Kept Island Secret

Mozambique is Africa's best-kept island secret — the turquoise waters and sandbanks of the Bazaruto Archipelago, the remote, palm-fringed islands of the Quirimbas, and a long Indian Ocean coast of dhows, diving and barefoot luxury. It is the natural, exclusive beach finish to a Southern African safari, with far fewer visitors than its neighbours.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Mozambique — we match the right island and lodge, usually as the relaxing close to a South Africa or Botswana safari, with the flights, transfers and formalities handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Bazaruto island lodges to Quirimbas hideaways, we build a Mozambique stay of pure, remote Indian Ocean calm.

Mozambique is the Indian Ocean before the crowds — Bazaruto's sandbanks, the remote Quirimbas, dhows and diving. The perfect, exclusive end to a safari.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
DRY SEASON & PEAK
May to October
Warm, dry and sunny with calm seas — the prime time for the islands and diving, and the same window as the safari peak next door. Book ahead.
SHOULDER
April & November
Warm with the odd shower, quieter and good value — a fine window either side of the peak, with warm water for diving.
GREEN SEASON
December to March
Hotter and more humid, with afternoon rains and a cyclone risk at times. Lush and quiet, with the warmest sea and good rates between the rain.
WHALE SHARK & MANTA
October to March
The warmer months bring the best chances of whale sharks and mantas on the reefs — a remarkable season for divers and snorkellers.
