The World's Most Improbable Country

Chile is the world's most improbable country — a ribbon of land 4,000 miles long, holding the driest desert on earth in the Atacama, the towers and glaciers of Patagonia in the south, vineyards and a buzzing capital in the middle, and remote Easter Island far out in the Pacific. Few countries offer such extremes in one trip.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Chile — we route its remarkable length: the desert, the wine country and Patagonia, linked by internal flights and timed to the season.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Atacama design lodges to Patagonian retreats, we build a Chile that spans its astonishing range from desert to ice.

Chile is geography showing off — driest desert, deepest south, all in one impossibly long country. The Atacama and Patagonia alone justify the journey.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
PATAGONIA SUMMER
November to March
The southern summer — the only practical window for Patagonia and Torres del Paine, with the longest days and the mildest weather. The peak season; book the lodges well ahead.
SPRING & AUTUMN
September-November & March-May
The most comfortable seasons for Santiago and the wine country — mild, with autumn colour in the vineyards and fewer crowds.
WINTER
June to August
Cool in the centre and south (Patagonia largely closes), but a fine time for skiing in the Andes near Santiago and for the desert north.
THE ATACAMA
Year-round
The desert north is rewarding all year, with warm days, cold nights and superb stargazing — simply pack layers whatever the season.
