The Adriatic at Its Most Beautiful

Croatia is the Adriatic at its most beautiful — the medieval walls of Dubrovnik, the Roman palace at the heart of Split, hundreds of islands in clear, calm seas, and the waterfalls of Plitvice inland. With its glamorous yet relaxed coast, it has become one of the Mediterranean's most sought-after summer destinations.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Croatia — we route the coast and islands: Dubrovnik, Split and a hop between Hvar and Korčula, or a private yacht charter, with the hotels and transfers handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Dubrovnik old-town hotels to island retreats, we build a Croatia trip of walled cities, clear seas and island calm.

Croatia is the Mediterranean as it used to be — walled cities, hundreds of islands and clear, calm seas. A private yacht here is one of the great summer escapes.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Croatia rewards the traveller who combines its cities with its islands. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik
The 'Pearl of the Adriatic' — walk the medieval walls above the terracotta roofs and the sea, in one of Europe's most spectacular old towns.
Split
A living Roman palace at the city's heart, a buzzing waterfront and the gateway to the central Dalmatian islands.
Hvar & Korčula
The chic, lavender-scented island of Hvar and the historic, vineyard-clad Korčula — the glamorous heart of the Dalmatian islands.
Private Sailing
Charter a yacht or gulet to island-hop the Adriatic at your own pace — hidden coves, harbour towns and swimming in clear seas.
Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes
A cascade of turquoise lakes and waterfalls through forest — one of Europe's most beautiful national parks, inland from the coast.
Food & Wine
Fresh Adriatic seafood, oysters from Ston, truffles from Istria and characterful local wines — a quietly superb food scene.

Practical Information
Practical Information
Getting There
  • Direct flights from London — around 2.5-3 hours to Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb in season (British Airways, Croatia Airlines, easyJet)
  • Direct flights also from many regional UK airports
  • Ferries link the islands
  • Croatia is 1 hour ahead of the UK
Entry Requirements
  • UK passport holders: visa-free under the Schengen 90/180-day rule (up to 90 days in any 180-day period, counted across all Schengen countries)
  • The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) is now in operation — on your first entry you give a facial image and fingerprints at the border, rather than a passport stamp
  • ETIAS, a travel authorisation (not a visa), is expected in late 2026 and is not yet required
  • Passport valid at least 3 months beyond your departure
Health & Safety
  • No vaccinations are legally required for entry from the UK
  • A UK GHIC gives access to state-provided healthcare in EU countries — carry it, but it is not a substitute for travel insurance
  • Comprehensive travel insurance is essential
Currency & Local Notes
  • Croatia adopted the Euro (EUR) in 2023, replacing the Kuna; cards and contactless are widely accepted
  • Tap water is safe
  • Tipping (around 10%) is appreciated
  • Croatia joined the Schengen Area in 2023, so its days count towards your Schengen allowance
