The Most Complete Country in Europe

Italy is the most complete country in Europe — Rome's ancient grandeur, the canals of Venice, the art of Florence, the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, the lakes, the rolling vineyards of Tuscany, and the food that shaped how the world eats. Few places reward a return visit, and a third, so richly.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Italy — we shape the route: cities and coast, the lakes or Tuscany, a multi-centre journey by fast train, with the hotels and transfers handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Amalfi clifftop hotels to Florentine palazzo stays, we build an Italy trip that goes beyond the obvious to the heart of the dolce vita.

Italy is inexhaustible — Rome, Venice, Florence, the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, the lakes. Most people come back for the half they didn't have time to see.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Italy rewards the traveller who pairs its cities with its coast and countryside. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
Rome
The Colosseum, the Vatican, the fountains and the food — the Eternal City layers three thousand years of history into one unforgettable stay.
Venice
Venice
The canals, St Mark's, the gondolas and the light on the lagoon — there is nowhere else like it, and it rewards an unhurried stay beyond the day-trippers.
Florence & Tuscany
Florence & Tuscany
The art of Florence and the rolling vineyards, hill towns and cypress avenues of Tuscany — Renaissance cities and wine country in one.
The Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast
Positano, Ravello and the cliffside drama of the most beautiful coast in Europe — clifftop hotels, lemon groves and the blue of the Tyrrhenian.
The Italian Lakes
The Italian Lakes
Como, Garda and Maggiore — grand villas, gardens and mountain backdrops, the romantic, elegant heart of northern Italy.
Food & Wine
Food & Wine
From Bologna's tables to Barolo's vineyards and Sicily's markets — Italy's regional cuisine is reason enough to keep coming back.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
SPRING
April to June
Warm, clear and uncrowded — the loveliest time for the cities, Tuscany and the coast, with everything in bloom and before the summer heat and crowds.
AUTUMN
September to October
Warm seas, the grape harvest and golden light — arguably the best all-round season, with the Amalfi Coast still warm and the cities comfortable.
SUMMER
July to August
Hot and busy, with peak prices — best for the coast, the lakes and the islands; the cities can be sweltering and crowded.
WINTER
November to March
Quiet, atmospheric cities, the festive season, and skiing in the Dolomites — a different, uncrowded Italy, with the coast largely closed.
