A Small Country, an Extraordinary Amount

Few small countries hold as much as Jordan. Petra — the rose-red city carved into a desert canyon — is one of the wonders of the world, and it is only the beginning: the Mars-red sands of Wadi Rum, where you sleep under more stars than seem possible; the Dead Sea, where you float on the lowest point on earth; and the Roman streets of Jerash, among the best-preserved anywhere.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Jordan — we string its wonders into one seamless journey, with the right guides, the right camps and the right pace.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio across the country, we build a Jordan that moves from ancient stone to desert silence to the float of the Dead Sea, without a wasted hour.

Jordan delivers wonder after wonder in the space of a week — Petra is merely where the list begins.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Jordan rewards the curious like few places on earth. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
Walk the Siq
Petra
Walk the Siq — a kilometre-long canyon — until it opens onto the Treasury, carved into rose-red rock two thousand years ago. A wonder of the world, and greater than its photographs.
The Mars-red desert of Lawrence of Arabia and a dozen films
Wadi Rum
The Mars-red desert of Lawrence of Arabia and a dozen films — towering rock formations, a 4x4 among the dunes, and a night in a desert camp under a ceiling of stars.
Float effortlessly on the saltiest, lowest body of water on earth, coat yourself in mineral mud, and watch the sun…
The Dead Sea
Float effortlessly on the saltiest, lowest body of water on earth, coat yourself in mineral mud, and watch the sun set over the hills beyond. Unlike anywhere else.
One of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities anywhere
Jerash
One of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities anywhere — colonnaded streets, theatres and temples you can walk through almost alone. A second wonder, often overlooked.
Jordan's Red Sea window
Aqaba & the Red Sea
Jordan's Red Sea window — warm, clear water and coral reefs for diving and snorkelling, and a relaxed end to a touring itinerary.
Jordanian hospitality runs through its food
Mansaf & Mezze
Jordanian hospitality runs through its food — mansaf, the national lamb-and-yoghurt dish, endless mezze, and sweet tea poured by Bedouin hosts in the desert.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
SPRING (IDEAL)
March to May
Warm, clear days and wildflowers across the hills — the finest time for Petra, Wadi Rum and touring. Comfortable for walking, and the landscape at its greenest. Peak season for good reason.
AUTUMN (IDEAL)
September to November
Warm days and cooler evenings, ideal for sightseeing, with the Red Sea still warm for late-season snorkelling at Aqaba. The other prime window.
SUMMER (HOT)
June to August
Hot and dry, often 40C and above, especially at Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba. Sightseeing is best early and late in the day; rates are lower and sites quieter.
WINTER (COOL & QUIET)
December to February
Cool and sometimes wet, with the chance of snow in Amman and Petra. Quiet, atmospheric and low-priced — magical at Petra, but pack warm layers for the desert nights.
