History, Landscape and Food in One Journey

Peru is one of the world's great journeys — the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu high in the Andes, the cobbled streets of Cusco, the Sacred Valley, the floating islands of Lake Titicaca, and the Amazon rainforest, with Lima's celebrated cuisine to begin or end. Few trips combine history, landscape and food so completely.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Peru — we route it around the altitude and the season: Lima, then the Sacred Valley to acclimatise, then Machu Picchu, with the trains, guides and timing handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from Sacred Valley haciendas to Amazon lodges, we build a Peru that delivers its wonders at a pace that lets you enjoy them.

Nothing prepares you for Machu Picchu in the morning mist. Peru rewards the traveller who comes for the Incas and stays for the food and the Amazon.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
DRY SEASON
May to October
The Andean dry season — sunny days, clear skies and the prime time for Machu Picchu, Cusco and the Sacred Valley. The most popular window; book the trains and lodges well ahead.
SHOULDER
April & November
The edges of the dry season — greener, quieter and good value, with mostly fine weather in the Andes.
GREEN SEASON
November to March
The Andean wet season, with afternoon rain and lush landscapes. Quieter and cheaper; note the Inca Trail closes each February for maintenance.
THE AMAZON & COAST
Year-round
The Amazon is warm and humid all year (drier May to October); Lima and the coast are mild, often grey in the southern winter and sunny December to April.
