The Most Talked-About New Destination in Travel

For decades it was closed to tourists; now Saudi Arabia is the most talked-about new destination in travel. At its heart is AlUla — a valley of honey-coloured rock where the Nabateans carved Hegra, a sister city to Petra, its great tombs standing in silent desert. There is far more: the Edge of the World near Riyadh, the restored old town of Jeddah, and a Red Sea coast being built into a world of its own.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Saudi Arabia — we navigate a country still finding its feet for visitors, handling the routing, the lodges and the timing so it feels effortless.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio centred on AlUla and beyond, we build a Saudi journey into Arabia's most extraordinary new frontier.

To stand alone before the tombs of Hegra is to understand why Saudi Arabia is the most extraordinary new destination in travel.

AlUla & Elephant Rock
Wander the mud-brick lanes of AlUla's old town and watch the sun set behind Elephant Rock, a vast natural arch in the desert. The valley is pure magic at dusk.
The world's largest mirrored building, reflecting the AlUla desert so completely it almost disappears
Maraya
The world's largest mirrored building, reflecting the AlUla desert so completely it almost disappears. A concert hall and an icon of the new Saudi Arabia.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
PEAK SEASON
November to March
The cool, dry winter — warm days and cold desert nights, ideal for AlUla, Riyadh and touring. The clear best window, and when AlUla's cultural season is in full swing.
SHOULDER
October & April
Warming up but still comfortable for sightseeing, with fewer visitors. Good value either side of the peak season.
SUMMER (VERY HOT)
May to September
Extreme heat across the interior, often 45C and beyond. Daytime touring is impractical; we'd steer most clients to the cooler months.
ALULA AT ITS BEST
December to March
AlUla is most magical in the cool of winter — crisp desert days, cold starlit nights and the valley's cultural season at its peak. The single finest time to go.
