The Length of a Country, Each Stop a Different World

Vietnam unfurls over 1,600 kilometres of coast, and travels through it the way you'd hope a country would: north to south, each stop a different world. The lantern-lit old town of Hoi An; the limestone towers of Halong Bay rising from jade water; the terraced hills of Sapa; the buzz and history of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and the slow green sprawl of the Mekong Delta.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Vietnam — we route the length of it, the right way round for your season, with the transfers and timing handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio from heritage hotels to junk cruises and beach resorts, we build a Vietnam that moves from city to bay to delta without a hitch.

Vietnam surprises everyone — the depth of the history, the kindness of the welcome, and food that may be the best in Asia.

Signature Experiences
Moments That Linger
Vietnam rewards the curious at every turn. These are the experiences our clients come home remembering.
Thousands of limestone towers rise from jade-green water
Halong Bay
Thousands of limestone towers rise from jade-green water — explored on an overnight junk cruise, with kayaking, caves and a sunrise that justifies the early start.
The lantern-lit old town
Hoi An
The lantern-lit old town — a UNESCO gem of merchant houses and tailors' shops, glowing on the river at night. The most romantic stop in the country.
The frenetic, fascinating heart of the capital
Hanoi's Old Quarter
The frenetic, fascinating heart of the capital — street food on every corner, the lake at its centre, and a history you can taste in every bowl of pho.
The far north's rice terraces stepping down the hills, home to hill-tribe villages and some of the country's most beautiful,…
Sapa & the Terraces
The far north's rice terraces stepping down the hills, home to hill-tribe villages and some of the country's most beautiful, misty landscapes.
The slow green sprawl of the south
The Mekong Delta
The slow green sprawl of the south — floating markets, sampan boats through the channels and a rural Vietnam far from the cities.
Vietnamese cuisine may be the finest in Asia
The Food
Vietnamese cuisine may be the finest in Asia — fresh, light and varied. A guided street-food walk or a cookery class is a highlight in any itinerary.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
THE NORTH
October to April
Cooler and drier in Hanoi, Halong and Sapa — the best window for the north, though midwinter can be misty and cold in the hills.
THE CENTRE
February to August
Warm and dry around Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang. September to December brings the heaviest rain and some flood risk on the central coast.
THE SOUTH
November to April
Dry and warm in Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong and Phu Quoc. May to October is wetter, usually with short afternoon downpours.
BEST OVERALL
February to April
The sweet spot when most of this long country is dry at once. Because the regions differ, we time and route your trip to the season — that's the craft of a good Vietnam itinerary.
