Alvear Icon Hotel, Buenos Aires

Alvear Icon Hotel is a contemporary five-star tower in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires' newest and most cosmopolitan district, on the Rio de la Plata — the Alvear group's modern sister to the Recoleta grande dame. Its 159 rooms and suites are bright and contemporary, with Carrara-marble baths and panoramic city-and-river views, and the hotel adds two heated pools (a 19th-floor indoor pool with a retractable roof and an outdoor pool and solarium), a full wellness spa, and the 32nd-floor Crystal Bar for skyline drinks. A polished gateway base for the city before flying south to Ushuaia to join an Antarctic expedition. Distinct from the group's Recoleta palace.

- The pre-cruise Buenos Aires base, not an Antarctic property.
- The group's modern Puerto Madero sister to the Recoleta grande dame.
- With the 32nd-floor Crystal Bar.
- In Puerto Madero, central Buenos Aires.
