Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts is a boutique cluster of bungalows on a pink-sand motu, on an atoll whose lagoon is famed — Cousteau among its admirers — for one of the highest fish densities in French Polynesia. You can dive and snorkel the Tuheiava Pass and its manta cleaning stations straight from the resort, walk pink sand under pandanus thatch, and sail to the seabird sanctuary of Bird Island. Dining runs along the lagoon's edge at Poreho and the fresh-fish table of Te Reka Ika.
