Four Worlds in One Small Country

Ecuador packs four worlds into one small country straddling the equator — the colonial splendour of Quito, the volcanoes and indigenous markets of the Andes, the Amazon rainforest, and, offshore, the wildlife wonderland of the Galapagos. You can stand in the snow of a volcano and the steam of the jungle within a day's travel.

At HighStreet Holidays we don't simply book Ecuador — we combine its worlds: the Andes and Amazon of the mainland, ideally paired with a Galapagos cruise, with the flights and transfers handled.

With access to a carefully vetted portfolio, from colonial Quito hotels to Amazon lodges, we build an Ecuador that links the mainland's variety with the islands that changed how we see the world.

Ecuador is the great-value gateway to South America — Andes, Amazon and the Galapagos within a compact, friendly country most travellers underrate.

Best Time to Visit
When to Go
HIGHLAND DRY SEASON
June to September
The driest, clearest months in the Andes — the best time for Quito, the volcanoes and the highland markets, with sunny days and cool nights.
SHOULDER
December to January
A second, shorter dry window in the highlands, with fine spells between showers — a good, quieter alternative time.
GREEN SEASON
October to May
Wetter in the highlands, with afternoon rain, but lush and quiet. The Amazon is rainy but rewarding year-round, with rivers at their highest.
GALAPAGOS
Year-round
The islands are a year-round destination with two seasons — warmer and calmer (December to May) and cooler with rougher seas but active wildlife (June to November).
