andBeyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

andBeyond Sandibe is the Delta's design icon — a lodge shaped like a resting pangolin, raised above the papyrus banks in a forest canopy of wild palms and fig trees, on a private concession of around 55,600 acres bordering Moremi. Because it holds exclusive traversing rights, the game drives go off-road and after dark, which the national parks can't offer, and the vehicles are built around the camera: bucket seats, charging points, bean bags and padded roll bars for photographers. The twelve raised 'weaver-nest' suites have copper-toned organic interiors, a private plunge pool, a fireplace and a broad terrace, with butler service throughout, and there is a massage sala and a small gym. Dining moves between an interactive kitchen, a treehouse pavilion among the palms and a fire-lit boma, and the all-inclusive rate covers meals, house wines and game activities. Reached by a light aircraft to Chitabe and a short drive, it suits couples, photographers and design lovers, with a larger suite for families.
