About the Resort
The 'Place of Plenty'
Wilderness Mombo Camp

Wilderness Mombo Camp is the legendary Botswana safari — Wilderness's flagship, on the Mombo Concession at the northern tip of Chief's Island, in the central Okavango Delta within Moremi. They call it the 'Place of Plenty,' and the name is earned: arguably the best big-game viewing in Africa, with exceptional lion, leopard, cheetah and wild-dog density and one of Botswana's best chances of rhino, on a private concession where the drives go off-road. Mombo sits at the heart of the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project, begun in 2001, which returned black and white rhino to the Delta. Just nine elevated luxury tents, raised on decks and walkways with armed night escorts, each have a separate bedroom and sitting room, a private plunge pool, a thatched sala and a copper-fitted tub; a wildlife hide puts you at ground level, and buffalo and elephant move beneath the decks. Activities are drive-focused, even within the water Delta. All-inclusive and almost entirely solar-powered, it is one of the most coveted safaris on earth — for connoisseurs, couples and repeat-Africa travellers.

Xigera Safari Lodge
Xigera is Red Carnation's ultra-luxury design lodge on two islands in the Moremi Game Reserve, in the western Okavango Delta — a living gallery holding Africa's largest hospitality art collection, more than 100 works by some 80 African artists. Twelve individually designed suites carry brass and copper baths, copper fireplaces, sweeping terraces and private plunge pools, around 90 per cent solar-powered. The water-based Delta setting brings silent glass-bottom mokoro excursions and motorboat cruises alongside Moremi game drives for lion, leopard and wild dog, while a three-storey baobab treehouse offers a sleep-out under the stars and a Tata Harper spa — Africa's first — handles the wellness.

andBeyond Sandibe is an ultra-luxury design lodge on a private Okavango concession bordering Moremi — its organic form inspired by a resting pangolin, among Africa's most striking lodge architecture. Twelve suites rise above the papyrus banks like golden-weaver nests, each with copper-toned interiors, a fireplace, a private plunge pool, a broad terrace and butler service. Exclusive traversing rights over around 55,600 acres mean off-road and night drives the national parks can't offer, for Big Five plus wild dog, cheetah, leopard, red lechwe and sitatunga — and the camp's photography-optimised game vehicles, with bucket seats, charging and bean bags, make it a favourite with photographers.
Savute Elephant Lodge
Botswana
Savute Elephant Lodge
Savute Elephant Lodge is Belmond's tented safari camp on the legendary, intermittent Savute Channel — a 'ghost river' in southern Chobe National Park, the elephant capital of the world. Twelve thatched, raised tented rooms carry four-poster beds, indoor and outdoor showers and large private decks with hammocks, with an elevated pool and a waterhole viewing hide where elephants come within metres of the deck. The Savuti is famed for its elephant and lion concentrations and as a BBC and Nat Geo filming location, and the camp pairs that game with Belmond polish, resident environmentalist talks and the carmine bee-eater migration — a distinctive Chobe icon.
