Wilderness Mombo Camp

Wilderness Mombo Camp is the legendary Botswana safari — Wilderness's flagship, on the Mombo Concession at the northern tip of Chief's Island, in the central Okavango Delta within Moremi. They call it the 'Place of Plenty,' and the name is earned: arguably the best big-game viewing in Africa, with exceptional lion, leopard, cheetah and wild-dog density and one of Botswana's best chances of rhino, on a private concession where the drives go off-road. Mombo sits at the heart of the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project, begun in 2001, which returned black and white rhino to the Delta. Just nine elevated luxury tents, raised on decks and walkways with armed night escorts, each have a separate bedroom and sitting room, a private plunge pool, a thatched sala and a copper-fitted tub; a wildlife hide puts you at ground level, and buffalo and elephant move beneath the decks. Activities are drive-focused, even within the water Delta. All-inclusive and almost entirely solar-powered, it is one of the most coveted safaris on earth — for connoisseurs, couples and repeat-Africa travellers.

- All-inclusive — meals, drinks and game activities.
- A romantic camp for couples and safari connoisseurs, with a larger tent for families.
- On the Mombo Concession of around 45,000 hectares at the northern tip of Chief's Island in Moremi — a private concession, so drives go off-road; activities are drive-focused, even within the water Delta.
- Fly to Maun, then a light aircraft to the Mombo airstrip and a short drive.
