About the Resort
Suspended above the Mara Triangle
Angama Mara

Angama Mara is suspended around 1,000 feet above the Mara Triangle — its name is Swahili for 'suspended in air' — on the rim of the Siria Escarpment in the western Maasai Mara. Thirty tented suites, split across two identical camps of fifteen, each front the plains with a ten-metre wall of glass, so the view is the room: the Mara Triangle spread out below, balloons drifting past at dawn, the escarpment falling away. The Mara Triangle is the reserve's quieter, well-managed western sector, rich in Big Five and more than 570 bird species, and the lodge's own kopje is the one from Out of Africa — set now for private picnics, sundowners and proposals. Days run on full board with all guided drives and escarpment walking safaris included; meals lean on the shamba, the lodge's own working garden, and there is a shared rim-flow pool with the Mara below. Owner-run and widely rated among East Africa's finest, it is reached by a light-aircraft hop from Nairobi — a romantic, iconic setting for couples and families alike.

“I had stayed at Four Seasons, One&Only and Velaa before visiting Angama Mara. They are all magnificent. But this is different in a way that is hard to articulate.”

Mahali Mzuri
Mahali Mzuri is Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Limited Edition camp, set on a hillside in the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara. As one of only a handful of camps across the conservancy, it offers off-road and night game drives with barely another vehicle in sight — and big-cat country where lion-pride territories converge. Twelve design-led tented suites stand raised on private decks, with freestanding tubs and the rare luxury of in-tent air-conditioning. An infinity pool overlooks the plains, the Nasaro Spa tent handles the downtime, and the camp sits squarely on the Great Migration path.

andBeyond Suyian opened in July 2025 as the only camp on the 44,000-acre private Suyian Conservancy in Laikipia — and was named to TIME's World's Greatest Places 2026. Sole-lodge rights mean game drives with no other vehicle in sight, in country known for the elusive black leopard, African wild dog, Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe. Fourteen suites in an Afro-Wabi-Sabi design each carry a private plunge pool, an outdoor shower and a terrace facing the Ewaso Narok River and Mount Kenya. Beyond the drives lie horseback safaris, camel walks, helicopter excursions and walks with Samburu herders.
Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club
Kenya
Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club
The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is a grand 100-acre country estate on the slopes of Mount Kenya — a 1959 club once frequented by Hollywood and royalty, with the Equator line running right through the grounds. Around 120 rooms, suites, cottages and villas spread across manicured gardens, many with fireplaces and mountain views, from the original manor's Equator-split Equatorial Suite to family villas with nanny rooms. An adjoining wildlife conservancy and animal orphanage sit on the doorstep, alongside Jack Nicklaus-designed golf, horseback Slopes Breakfasts and a colonial-glamour 'dress for dinner' tradition — a very different experience from a bush camp.
