Fairmont Monte Carlo

The Fairmont Monte Carlo is the Formula 1 and lifestyle hotel of Monte Carlo — Monaco's largest hotel, built out over the sea, with a corner that is Formula 1's most famous: the Fairmont Hairpin, the Grand Prix's tightest turn, with front-row race-weekend views from its balconies and roof. Around six hundred terraced rooms of about thirty-five square metres look over the sea, the gardens or the circuit, a year-round heated rooftop pool crowns it alongside the seasonal Nikki Beach and the 360-degree Amu rooftop restaurant, and Nobu brings its Japanese-Peruvian draw from Nobu Matsuhisa. The Fairmont Spa runs eight treatment rooms and couples' suites over the Hairpin, and a summer kids' club and generous event spaces make it as much a family and business base as a glamorous one. The location is central Monte Carlo: the Casino of Monte Carlo and the Opera stand next door, the yachts of Port Hercule and Larvotto beach are close, and Nice, Cannes and the Italian border are easy day trips along the coast. It is the lively, larger Riviera base — and note, this sits in Monaco, a separate state on the French Riviera. Between race weekends, the days run from the rooftop pool to the Casino square, the yachts of Port Hercule and the Larvotto beaches, with the principality's gardens and the Oceanographic Museum close by.
