Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

The Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is the Serengeti with Four Seasons polish — the largest and most resort-like lodge in the park, set on elevated wooden platforms above two adjoining waterholes in the central Serengeti. Its signature is the free-form infinity pool that looks straight onto an elephant waterhole, so the game viewing starts from the sun-lounger; behind it run 77 rooms, suites and free-standing villas in contemporary African design, with open-air sun decks and deep tubs, up to private villas with plunge pools and a 24-hour attendant. This is the comfortable, family-capable Serengeti pick at scale, not an intimate camp — there is a kids' club, a Discovery Centre on migration and wildlife, and a Maasai Boma for dinner and dancing. Dining spans three restaurants, two bars and a wine cellar, from African cooking at Nuru to the open-fire Boma Grill, and the days run on central-Serengeti game drives, a guided walking safari, hot-air ballooning and the pool. Reached by a light-aircraft hop to Seronera, it suits families and multigenerational groups who want luxury with room to spread out.
