Kasbah Tamadot

Kasbah Tamadot is the mountain escape to Marrakech's city hotels — Sir Richard Branson's Moroccan home, a Virgin Limited Edition retreat in the High Atlas foothills near the Berber village of Asni, around an hour from the city, with Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, on the horizon. It holds Three MICHELIN Keys, and was rebuilt and expanded after the 2023 earthquake. The 42 rooms and suites are individually decorated with Luciano Tempo antiques, from main-building Deluxe rooms and suites to draped Berber tent suites with soaking tubs and private terraces, six new three-bedroom riads and a master suite with its own pool. The pull is the setting and the culture: mule treks to Berber villages, cooking lessons and bread baking, a traditional mint-tea ceremony, and a visit to the Eve Branson Foundation in the community, with an outdoor infinity pool over the river valley and a mountain hammam to come back to. Dining is at Kanoun and the Berber Asayss. It suits couples, honeymooners and active, cultural travellers, with riads for families.
