Londolozi Private Game Reserve

Londolozi is the pedigree South African safari — the world's first Relais & Châteaux game reserve, run by the Varty family since 1926, on the Sand River in the heart of the Sabi Sand. Its borders with the Greater Kruger are unfenced, so the Big Five roam freely and the drives go off-road and after dark, which the national parks can't match. Above all, this is the place for the leopards of Londolozi — widely regarded as the best leopard sightings in Africa, the cats relaxed around vehicles after more than thirty years of research, tracked by expert ranger and Shangaan tracker teams. Around 27 suites spread across five intimate camps, each with a private deck and plunge pool: the family-friendly Varty and Founders camps, the adults-only Tree and Pioneer camps, and the exclusive-use Granite Suites for six — so there is a camp to match the party. Days run on all-inclusive game drives, bush walks, stargazing and Shangaan cultural visits, with the Healing House for wellness. Reached by a light-aircraft hop to the Londolozi airstrip, it is the icon of the page — 90-plus years of safari heritage and the leopards that made its name.

- All-inclusive — meals, drinks, two game drives a day and bush walks, in the Sabi Sand way.
- Three family-friendly camps (Varty and Founders) and three adults-only camps (Tree, Pioneer and Granite, sixteen and over) — choose to match the party.
- In the Sabi Sand, with unfenced borders onto the Greater Kruger, so the Big Five roam freely and drives go off-road and after dark.
- Fly to the Londolozi airstrip from Johannesburg, or to Skukuza, then a short drive.
