The Peninsula Beijing

The Peninsula Beijing is the city's only all-suite hotel — a multimillion-dollar renovation reconfigured 525 rooms into 230 grand suites, the largest accommodation in Beijing, each with a separate bedroom, living area, marble bathroom and dressing room. It stands on Goldfish Lane in the Wangfujing district, a short walk from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing's shopping, with Dengshikou subway a few minutes away — the ideal base for Beijing's great sights. Henry Leung's design pairs heritage with advanced in-room technology, and the dining is a destination in itself: Michelin-starred Jing for modern French, Huang Ting for Cantonese in a preserved Qing-Dynasty courtyard, the open-air Yun rooftop lounge with Beijing views, and afternoon tea in The Lobby. A twelve-room Peninsula Spa offers thermal bathing, there is a glass-ceilinged indoor pool, and the Peninsula-green Rolls-Royce fleet waits at the door. There is no beach — this is central Beijing — the culture-and-icon base, a Great Wall day trip away.
