Chobe Game Lodge

Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge inside Chobe National Park — which is its whole advantage: its vehicles and boats are out before any other lodge's, in the riverfront sector with the densest elephant population in the world, for the best early predator viewing. A long-established lodge in Moorish-arched, barrel-vaulted design, it offers both land game drives and Chobe River boat safaris, and it pioneered Africa's first electric, solar 'silent safaris' by vehicle and boat back in 2014, guided by the trail-blazing all-female 'Chobe Angels.' The 44 rooms run to 40 river-facing rooms and four suites with private infinity plunge pools, all with air-conditioning and river-view terraces. It is larger and more accessible than the intimate fly-in camps — a drive-in base around 40 minutes from Kasane, with no bush-plane needed — and it carries a touch of history as the place Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton married. All-inclusive, family-friendly and conservation-minded, it is the easy way into the heart of Chobe.
