About the Resort

Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa

Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa is the comfortable, drive-in way to do Chobe — a full-facility riverfront resort on the banks of the Chobe River at Kasane, around ten minutes from the airport and eight kilometres from Chobe National Park, with no bush-plane to catch. It is named for the thousand-year-old baobab the lobby is built around ('mowana' means baobab), and the days run on Chobe game drives and sunset boat cruises in the elephant capital of Africa, with fishing, a private birding boat and the adjacent Mowana Golf Course. Around 110 rooms and four suites have river-view balconies, air-conditioning and ceiling fans, and there is a spa and sauna, a hair salon set in a treehouse, a Jacuzzi and infinity pools. “I had stayed at Four Seasons, One&Only and Velaa before visiting Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa. They are all magnificent. But this is different in a way that is hard to articulate.”

Chobe Game Lodge
Botswana
Chobe Game Lodge
Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge inside Chobe National Park — an established riverfront 5-star, larger and drive-in, with Moorish arches and barrel-vault ceilings on the banks of the Chobe River. Being inside the park means its vehicles are out before the gates open to other lodges, for the best early predator viewing of the densest elephant population in the Kalahari. It pioneered Africa's first electric, solar 'silent safaris' on both vehicles and boats, and its guiding is led by the trailblazing all-female Chobe Angels. Forty-four rooms — four with private infinity plunge pools — pair land game drives with Chobe River boat safaris, where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton once married.
Savute Elephant Lodge
Botswana
Savute Elephant Lodge
Savute Elephant Lodge is Belmond's tented safari camp on the legendary, intermittent Savute Channel — a 'ghost river' in southern Chobe National Park, the elephant capital of the world. Twelve thatched, raised tented rooms carry four-poster beds, indoor and outdoor showers and large private decks with hammocks, with an elevated pool and a waterhole viewing hide where elephants come within metres of the deck. The Savuti is famed for its elephant and lion concentrations and as a BBC and Nat Geo filming location, and the camp pairs that game with Belmond polish, resident environmentalist talks and the carmine bee-eater migration — a distinctive Chobe icon.
Wilderness Mombo Camp
Botswana
Wilderness Mombo Camp
Wilderness Mombo is the flagship of the Wilderness portfolio — and widely recognised as among the finest safaris in Africa. It sits on the Mombo Concession at the northern tip of Chief's Island, in the heart of Moremi, the 'Place of Plenty', where exceptional lion, leopard, cheetah and wild-dog density makes it a predator capital and one of Botswana's best places to find rhino. Nine elevated luxury tents, each with a separate sitting room, a private deck, a plunge pool and a thatched sala, look over floodplains where buffalo and elephant pass beneath the decks. Mombo was central to the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project, runs entirely on solar, and remains one of the most coveted safaris on earth.
