Hotel Sacher Wien

Hotel Sacher Wien is the grand imperial Viennese landmark — founded in 1876, Vienna's only privately owned, family-run grand hotel, standing directly opposite the State Opera and home to the Original Sacher-Torte at Cafe Sacher. Its 152 rooms and suites wear imperial jewel tones, antiques, silk and original oil paintings, part of one of Austria's largest private art collections, refreshed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, with Opera, Albertina or Karntner-Strasse views and the Madame Butterfly Suite reaching a hundred and eighty square metres. The Sacher trilogy of bars and restaurants frames the pre- and post-Opera ritual, from the two-toque Grune Bar to the Rote and Blaue Bars, and the rooftop Sacher Boutique Spa pours a “Time to Chocolate” body line alongside private spa suites and a Finnish sauna. The location is imperial Vienna at its most concentrated: the State Opera is across the street, and the Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School, the Albertina and the shopping of Karntner Strasse and the Graben are all a short walk.
