Rosewood Vienna

Rosewood Vienna is the city's newest grand hotel — the first new luxury hotel in Vienna in a decade, opened in 2022 on Petersplatz in the heart of the Old Town. Its ninety-nine rooms and suites fill an 1835 neoclassical former bank that holds the very apartment where Mozart composed The Abduction from the Seraglio, in contemporary residential interiors by Alexander Waterworth with Vienna art and edelweiss-inspired brass. The rooftop THE1835 bar opens over the dome of the Peterskirche and the spire of St Stephen's, the Neue Hoheit Brasserie grills European dishes over a josper grill on an Old-Town-view terrace, and the top-floor Asaya Spa uses Augustinus Bader in four treatment rooms with a sauna, steam and round-the-clock fitness in the former bank board room. The location is the centre of the centre: the Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School, St Stephen's and the shopping of the Graben and Kohlmarkt are three minutes away, the State Opera around nine. It is the newest, design-led, rooftop face of Vienna — distinct from the imperial Sacher and the bank-vault Park Hyatt.
