Kulusuk Hotel

Hotel Arctic is the world's northernmost four-star hotel and Greenland's most famous, standing on the shores of the UNESCO Ilulissat Icefjord on Disko Bay. Every one of its rooms looks out over the icefjord or the bay, in Danish-elegant interiors hung with Greenlandic art, and the hotel adds five coast-edge aluminium igloo cabins (boardwalk-linked, open May to October) for sleeping beside the icebergs. Greenlandic cuisine is served at Restaurant Ulo, there is a terrace for midnight-sun drinks, and the whole hotel is CO2-neutral. The classic Ilulissat icefjord base.

Glacier Lodge Eqi is a wilderness cabin camp set directly across the fjord from the thundering, calving Eqip Sermia glacier, around 80 kilometres north of Ilulissat and reached only by a 3-to-5-hour boat sail through iceberg-filled Disko Bay or by helicopter. Around fifteen solar-powered red Nordic huts step up the hillside, the front-row Comfort De Luxe cabins giving panoramic windows and private terraces onto the ice. Meals are full board at Cafe Victor with a glacier view, days are spent on guided hikes onto the Greenland Ice Sheet, and the historic Paul-Emile Victor expedition relics lie nearby. Raw Arctic wilderness with just enough comfort.

Hotel Hans Egede is Nuuk's largest and best-known hotel, in the heart of Greenland's capital on the main street, a four-star Scandinavian-design city hotel within walking distance of the harbour, the Katuaq Cultural Center and the National Museum. Rooms run from budget to the named Clinton Suite, with city or fjord views, and serviced apartments sit alongside them. The hotel is home to Nuuk's standout dining: the fine-dining Sarfalik, the A Hereford Beefstouw steakhouse, and the top-floor Skyline Bar with panoramic views over the capital, the fjord and the mountains. The central base in the capital, and a natural Nuuk gateway stop.
