CERVO Mountain Resort

CERVO is the design-and-lifestyle ski-in/ski-out resort at the Matterhorn — fifty-four rooms across around seven larch-wood chalets just above car-free Zermatt, the only true ski-in/ski-out in the village, with a famous slope-side apres-ski from three in the afternoon. Its Atman Mountain Ashram spa centres on a Japanese-style onsen facing the Matterhorn, joined by a Bhutanese hot-stone bath, Nordic saunas, a natural cold pool, a heated outdoor pool, a climbing wall and daily yoga and sound baths. Three international restaurants run from the Italian Madre Nostra to the fondue, raclette and table-barbecue of Ferdinand, the Dreimeta design layers alpine chalet, hunting lodge and modern minimalism, and the Matterhorn fills nearly every window. Zermatt itself is car-free and reached by cog railway from Tasch, its 360 kilometres of pistes climbing to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and summer skiing, with the Sunnegga funicular opposite the resort and the Gornergrat railway close. Dog-friendly and full of energy, it is a year-round, dual-season resort with a lively, design-led spirit — distinct from the intimate, architectural OMNIA on the rock.
