THE OMNIA

THE OMNIA is the architectural design hotel on the rock above Zermatt — reached through a tunnel and a glass elevator that rises through the granite to the lobby, a “James Bond lair” arrival forty-five metres above the village. Ali Tayar's architecture echoes the Matterhorn's canted lines in glass, metal and larch, and just thirty rooms including twelve suites, no two layouts alike, look out across Zermatt and the peak, with suites reaching a hundred and ten square metres with wood stoves and private saunas. The Feel Well spa lays an indoor-outdoor heated pool, a Finnish sauna, a Turkish caldarium, a flower-grotto steam room and an outdoor whirlpool against Matterhorn and village views, and the restaurant runs refined seasonal international dishes by the open fires. Zermatt itself is car-free and reached by cog railway from Tasch, with its 360 kilometres of pistes, summer skiing on the Matterhorn glacier and the Gornergrat railway all minutes below the rock. Intimate, design-led and rated ninety-five points on La Liste 2026, it is the architectural counterpoint to lively CERVO.
