Maslina Resort

Maslina Resort is the eco-wellness island boutique on Hvar — a Relais & Chateaux retreat of “Mindful Luxury” in olive groves and pine forest at Maslinica Bay, by the two-thousand-four-hundred-year-old UNESCO town of Stari Grad. Just fifty rooms and three villas are built in organic, island-sourced materials, suites taking private heated plunge pools and rooftop gardens and the three coastal villas private heated infinity pools. The Pharomatiq Spa draws a garden-to-skin menu and sound-bowl healing from Hvar's own environment, the gourmet table is organic and garden-to-table, and two pools are shaded by the grove's own relocated olive trees beside a private beach. The setting is the slow, green side of the island: Maslinica Bay sits over two hectares of pine forest and terraced vineyards on the Adriatic, Stari Grad and its UNESCO plain are a fifteen-minute walk, and snorkelling, paddleboarding and boat trips to the Pakleni islands and Hvar Town are all at hand. It is the intimate, sustainable island retreat of the Croatian coast — a distinct setting from the Dubrovnik hotels and the Istrian flagship. Seasonal, at its best in the warmer months. The UNESCO Stari Grad Plain, the lavender fields of the island's interior and the fortress and squares of Hvar Town all lie within reach, the Pakleni islands a short boat ride off the coast.
